Demand, tankless water heater

Does not always start with water flow. Water pressure & flow seem fine.
When it doesn't fire off, we have to turn faucet on an off several times to get it to fire.
Not sure how to check electrical circuits

Make and model of the tankless unit???
My Girard tankless has a reset button that I need to press from time to time.

I have that issue occasionally I find by simply turning shower on and another faucet on gets the heater going then shut off faucet and heater stays on. I wish I could go swap out for old style tank this tankless thing tanks forever to warm up and if any adjustment to temperature makes tankless go cold then you wait n wait for hot water to heat up and fills up your holding tank quicker

Hi AJS,
When my 2021 Alante 27a was about a year old i experienced sporadic hot water for about a day, then none. After a call to Girard it was found to be a faulty hot water temp. probe, which they sent to me and i installed it.
I've also learned(at least on my coach) that the gswh-2 is very sensitive to water pressure fluctuations. So when running hot water off of shore pressure(even though i allways use a pressure regulator)i would get moments of cold water during showers. For the last 6 months i've been running water by filling the fresh water tank then using water via the pump. I know i'll burn out the pump sooner but i think its worth it for unlimited, consistent hot water.
Hope this helps
Pete

I have posted my own experiences with this issue several times. Check your shower hose to see if it has a restriction inside to make it low-flow. Ours did, and I replaced the shower hose and head with a standard flow model -- no problems since.

(Of course, if your issues affect all faucets, then this won't be a global fix -- our sink faucets all worked fine. In that case, try filling the fresh-water tank and pumping from that, as has been suggested above.)
