Do you like modern farmhouse?

modern farmhouse: white cabinetry with black handles, black faucets and shower head. How do you like the style and color? Personally I prefer stainless steel handles and faucets that are shining. But on dealer's lot, only available option is modern farmhouse.

With stainless steel, any dirt can been seen easily and need to be cleaned. With kitchen faucet painted black, is it stainless steel? will the paint get into drinking water by any chance?

We have modern farmhouse on our Precept 34G and love it. No, the color won't contaminate your water!

If the color of the hardware is your only issue, just change them out to what you want for a few hundred dollars... simple enough.

The kitchen in our 2021 28bhs has a satin nickel faucet.I think the bathroom does too.

We love the overall look. It makes the camper feel bigger in my opinion.

If the faucet is all that's holding you back, you could change them out with a better quality faucet from your local home improvement store.

In my house we have neutral colors throughout with white appliances. Almost a year ago our microwave in the house quit and we couldn't find a white one to save your life. SS was about the only thing out there and even those were scares. Covid. Our trailer had darker cabinets and somewhat lighter walls with stainless appliances. We've gone thru trailers at the camper shows that have the farmhouse interiors,.. not my style.

We love the modern farmhouse, it was actually the deciding factor in our purchase of a 2020 HT fiver because the Grand Design we almost bought had only dark wood stain and was far too dark inside. We've had it over a year and are very glad we went with modern farmhouse. Plumbing fixtures in ours are satin nickel, which is fine with us. As others have pointed out, the faucets are cheap and you'll likely replace them because they won't hold up. That would be the time to change finish colors. As for water contaminates: I'd be more concerned with the interior of the fixture and the plumbing where the water sits for periods of time between use.

Our 2020 Talon has the Farmhouse with Satin Nickle
faucets as well. Love the look. Just like Nature lst above, this was also one of the factors for us in choosing the Jayco over Grand Design.

Thanks to all. Satin Nickel color(like stainless steel) matches white cabinet better than the farmhouse style(white and black) in my taste.

I believe the faucet is standard in size and can be easily replaced. Is the size of cabinet and drawer handles used in farmhouse style standard? If not standard, it will be difficult to find replacement.

There are no standards in door/cabinet draw handles, i.e, they come as knobs, and varying widths. So, you'd have to measure yours and see what matches at places like Lowes, Home Depot, kitchen cabinet shops, and online like Amazon.

The hinge color is the same as handles. It would be a big project to change them all to stainless steel color.

Seems like you're making your own argument not to do this?

Power screw driver would make light work of this.... I'd think about an hour total if you can find the right sizes that use the same holes.

Sometimes these issues turn out to be less than we think they will be. When we looked at ordering our HT fiver with farmhouse, we didn't like the color of the couch and recliner upholstery. Once we took delivery, we looked at each other and said "what the heck were we thinking" we like the color and now realize the darker color we tried to order wouldn't have looked so good.
You may find you like it or get used to it and never question it again!

I like the lighter colors in a RV. Makes the interior appear more spacious.

We love the modern farmhouse scheme in our 2020 30.5CKTS ! All of our plumbing on the inside is brushed nickel, and it looks good with the lighter wood color. We do wish they had done all of the wood and trim in the lighter color, but still have a lot of dark stained wood. Some like the “blend” of both—it’s ok for us.

Yes, I do like the farmhouse look, for the simple reason that it is bright and clean.

Too many RVs have dark stained cabinets and with the lack of windows in a typical RV, you always feel like you need to turn the lights on.

I've thought about painting our current whitehawk cupboards a lighter colour, but from what I've seen on Youtube videos, it's hard to find a paint that will stick to the existing paint/stain.

We ordered our 2020 30.5 Eagle HT CKTS specifically for the modern farmhouse interior. We love it. It does make the inside seem larger as said in another post.

If we were in the market today, it's what we would buy. In five years, when we are planning to replace ours, it will be something different. Fashions change.

Personally I prefer the color and warmth of wood. A nice reddish cherry finish (which seems to have fallen out of favor in recent years) as the subtle differences in grain and color lend themselves to adding a 3D effect to everything. "Modern farmhouse" has the opposite effect, everything seems flat and dimensionless and just plain "blah". I think it's a finish being promoted by the manufacturers because it's a cheaper, easier to apply finish. I wonder how those that get it will feel when the have to touch the surfaces after a particularly dirty job and they haven't noticed that grease on their hands? How well will that mat finish clean compared to a nice smooth lacquer finish? Time will tell. Just my opinion, everyone has one and none of them are really wrong...

Sorry, IMHO it’s a trailer, not a “farmhouse” and dark natural wood looks richer and just seems to fit better for an RV. I think the white farmhouse style is a trend that, in a few years, will look as out of style as the blonde wood cabinets and plaid cushions of past RVs. That said, I think it’s great that Jayco created something different that a lot of folks love. Just hope they don’t make that the only option.
