EMS 30 Problems

When I plug in EMS and it gets through with delay and comes on ,it hums real low. Never noticed it before. It is plugged into a 20 amp plug ,using an adapter. Also LED reads 117 volts, but if you plug a volt meter into EMS out plug it reads 122 volts which is the same as the post plug reads,, Do I have a problem or can volt meter be a little off. (5volts)

What brand of EMS do you have? My Progressive EMS shut down my camper due to an apparent internal malfunction. My EMS showed 122v on the display and verified 122v at pedestal but output voltage was only 106-109. Progressive is sending me a replacement. Great customer service.

It is a progressive EM 30, mine is showing 117 volts but putting out 122 according to my cheap volt meter. Is the low humming noise a problem ?

The EMS I'm having replaced was 4 years old and I never experienced a humming noise coming from the unit and not sure if the humming noise you hear presents a problem or not. Maybe keep tabs on it by taking periodic voltage checks. I believe that pedestal voltage, EMS display voltage and EMS output voltage should be the same in a normal [E0] operating condition.

I would put more faith in the digital on the EMS.

I agree with that.

I have at least 4 different digital voltmeters, they all read differently when testing the same source, the cheap ones are the furthest from the average.
