Extended Warranties

My 2016 35UN should be arriving in April. Is the extended warranty worth the price? If so, what is the best price to pay for it?

General consensus was it's not worth the price. Two years are included so a 4 great service plan is really only getting you am extra 2 years.

I bought an extended warranty plan for 5 years, only because I got a great price, and it starts only after the factory warranty expires, giving me a 7 year warranty. Only time will tell if it was worth even the low price I paid, but it does cover the Alante windshield (huge & 3K to replace) as well as tires and wheels on both the coach and toad along with all of the normal stuff with no deductible. If I get a blowout with damaged wheel and a rock into the windshield that will cover the cost of the warranty plus. Normally I don't bother with them but one look at that huge windshield tipped the balance on the decision.

Based on the extended warranty inspections I have done, my findings were well worth the price of the warranty. I bet nobody here thought of that!

Many people across forums say no and some say yes = all probabilities after all.

Actually, those owners who upskill themselves enough to do their own warranty work probably are the best off over the long run. At least they don't xxxxx much about long wait times, or paying a lot of money (actually the banks) for a motorhome that they think should be problem free like a car, and seem to do their homework and try to learn about their systems and appliances.

Your really asking what is the price for peace of mind. Maybe you won't need it. Maybe you will.

I agree, we debated about it and ended up purchasing the 5 year plan. The biggest selling point for us was that if we are on the road and have a problem we don't have to find a Jayco dealer but can use anyone who honors the extended warranty. Really is just an insurance policy and something I hope we don't have to use.

I am also not very mechanically inclined.
