Fuel Pump Driver Module

The wife and I went on a trip Rocky Point, Mx and got about 22 miles outside of Gila Bend, AZ (112 degrees outside) when I thought our fuel pump went out. After a very costly repair from a mobile mechanic to replace the fuel pump, it was discovered the fuel pump wasn't the culprit. After troubleshooting all the electric, it was discovered there is no power getting to the fuel pump. All wires were in tact so I've narrowed it down to the "Fuel Pump Driver Module" Dorman Part #601-225. Now here is where the problem lies, I can't find the module. I've looked around the frame rail near the fuel tank. The harness from the fuel pump travels along the passenger side frame rail but due to the water tanks, muffler heat shield and other obstacles, I can't seem to find the module anywhere. Does anyone know where this critter could be?

Yes sir, I watched that video. Problem is that it doesn't really show where the module is located on the frame for the F53 chassis. It mentions cross members also which I looked at on mine as well but still can't find it. It's probably staring me right in the face.

I tried to find something to verify this but couldn't find anything. In the not so distance past I was looking up this information for my E450, as there is a way to jumper it and let me pump my tank empty.

In any case, I seem to remember that I read that on the F53 the fuel pump driver module is located on the inside rail, driver side, about halfway along the frame. Based on where you saw the harness, perhaps I read the passenger side, however I am more confident that I read as stated above, certainly a good place to start if haven't checked there yet. ~CA

You might try taking your vin # to the local Ford dealer parts dept. and ask them if they would show you where the parts catalog shows it. They might print the catalog page for you. I wouldn’t tell them that you have already bought a Dorman part!!!

That's a great idea. I'll do that in the morning. I've always tried to avoid the dealership but I like the way you think. Much appreciated.

Solved

I called the Ford Motorhome Assistance Center at 800-444-3311 and created a Tech Case. 15 minutes later I got a call back from a local technician and he provided me with information and the attached documents. I’m going to verify this when I get home and take some actual photos of the module on my coach to hopefully help out some in the future. The pdf file is the wiring diagram of the fuel control system with color coded wiring.

Yeah, that's all I've got on it as well. RV's are pretty generalized in the Ford catalog. This is what it looks like. It says location "vehicle rear end, left side, center"

It was exactly when the drawing said. Passenger frame rail just aft of the rear axel front leaf spring hanger. Easiest to look for the nuts and tab on the outside of the rail. The module was buried behind several bundles of wire harnesses.
