Goodyear Endurance RSA

So I purchased 6 new Goodyear Endurance RSA for my 2017 Jayco Alante 32N in March 2023 due to my original G672 was supposed to be over 6 years old and the Goodyear Commercial representative suggested these were a better tire. Tires were still good and no cracks but did not want to worry about a tire blowout. With only 6900 miles, we were traveling to Georgia and began feeling a vibration. We pulled off at an exit and I looked at all the tires and did not see anything. I got back on I75 and got about 1 mile down the road and the vibration started. Immediately we heard a loud banging noise so I immediately pulled off. When I got out the right rear inner tire tread on the inside of the tire was missing. The tire did not blow out but the tread was partially missing. Has this happened to anybody with these new tires?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

I can't help with personal experience with that model of commercial Endurance, although we did put the ST version on our trailer.
I would check the date code on it, and the others also. Is it still covered under the warranty period?

Did you check the pressures before heading out? Under inflation can cause that to happen.

Especially on inside duals. They are a PITA to check and most are always under inflated.

So how long before that happened had you checked the pressure with a tire gauge? A visual or "Bump" test is not a valid test.

Is that 6900 miles on the tires or on the coach? How many miles on the tires when this happened?

Looks like a slipped belt since the delamination is localized. It could be manufacturing defects but any tire can be damaged like that by bad shocks, suspension, or road impacts. I'd be in contact with Goodyear through a dealership to try to get it warrantied out.

The coach had 32377 and the shocks and springs were only 2 years old after Tampa Springs redid the springs at 15000 miles. I will be taking it to Goodyear tomorrow to find out what they are going to do. All the tires pressures were 82lbs when we left out in the late morning. I will update when I find out.

I have an aftermarket TPMS which works well, worth the investment.
