gray water sensors

hi emptied gray water tank sensors still show half full whats up with that do i need to clean sensors and if so how.

Tank sensors are lousy at best. Sometimes when we empty, the tank shows 1/4 full for a while after, then it will go out. You can add gray tank cleaner/deodorizer which may help the next time, but sensors can be stubborn. They complete a low voltage circuit (ground) when wet, to light up the monitor panel, so it may take a some time for the light to go out. Don't bet the farm on their performance.

The issue is build up of soap and grease on the sensors. What I do when my sensors start to be less reliable, is add a cup of liquid fabric or water softner, to a five gallons of water. I pour half the solution in to each. Letting it slosh while driving to camp. I might do this a couple times.

Usually my sensors start to work better after a few treatment.
