OH NO!!!
Caught a rock in windshield and it spread. I believe I’m going to have to replace it. Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks

Do you have glass coverage on your insurance? If so, start with your insurance Co.

Otherwise, I would start calling your local glass companies for a quote.

How long is the crack? According to the quick search on Google, it looks like Arizona is one of the few states that replace windshields free. I would check for large reputable window replacement shops. I had a rock and called Safelite and they came to my RV in a campground and fixed it on the spot. Very small chip, so they used the suction thing and resin, but the experience was good. Know your Insurance and what they will do. being in Arizona it should be covered with no cost to you.

Do a bit of research and then start with Insurance and or window replacement shops.

Sorry but that is not true. You need glass insurance here and full coverage is best with OEM replacement, which is a few dollars more.

And La Mesa is not in Arizona so unless I missed something in the post he is in some other state.

According to this place in Phoenix its included in your Comprehensive coverage. My apologies on the wrong state, jumped the gun on that one. You live there so you would know better than me, but I know Florida has this and i've used it multiple times, like I said a quick search landed me here, so I thought it was covered.

Either way, I would start with knowing if you have this type of coverage in your state and do some research.

Another one of those car wash glass replacement vultures. Sure it is free, if you have coverage. Meaning the repair person will charge your insurance not you. The glass replacement company who's representative is hanging around the car wash line, checking your windshield will set EVERYTHING up for you including charging your insurance HOWEVER, unless you have paid for full glass coverage you still may get hung for the deductible or the glass hawk might wave that for you and double charge the insurance company.

Either way, if you want full coverage you pay for it. Yes do the research and check with your insurance company and as I said, if you want OEM glass put in, you pay for that with a higher premium or you get Chinese glass (which they say, but I cant confirm) is inferior.

I know that. His posts do not designate a state and there are many other "La Mesas" in the country but not in Arizona.

We will NEVER do another resin fix on our vehicles. If your vehicle gets into an accident and your windshield has a resin fix, it devalues your vehicle. Although our insurance agent highly recommended the resin fix instead of a full replacement, he didn't tell us that it would devalue the vehicle. When DW was rear ended and our insurance adjuster came out, it lowered the value about $1,000 - doesn't sound like much but it was enough that they technically could have totaled the vehicle.

Diy

$6 to $12 you can buy a DIY kit for small windshield chips. I try to keep insurance out of any issues that I possibly can.
Seems like anytime I make a claim my insurance goes up.

Unfortunately it is bigger than a chip. But thanks for the advice!

Just replaced mine in 2019 34G. Progressive took care of it minus deductible thru Glass Boss in Mesa, AZ. They have a local office in SoCal. Very quick and efficient.
