Headlight Alignment

With our 2018 Alante 31V we usually drive only during the day, which is why we never saw the problem. But on a recent trip we were running late and had to drive with headlights on. Turned out, while the headlights worked, the beams hit the road maybe 20-30 ft ahead instead of lighting the road as would be expected.

This was mentioned to the dealership when we had a bunch of other minor warranty items to be done and, while they did a god job on the other items, they could not fix the headlight because they did not have the adjusting equipment.

So, where do we go for that to be fixed? The dealer was not sure, maybe a Ford Truck service or a general purpose repair shop. Obviously I want to get that done on warranty as well so I will also check with Jayco C.S.

I found that issue when I drove my rig home (400 miles one way) from the dealer with about half of that in the dark. Low beams were almost straight down and high beams were about where the low beams should have been.
I called Jayco Motorized CS and they sent me a headlight alignment document and they approved me to take it to a local truck service center of my choice. I paid for the service, sent Jayco the invoice and they reimbursed me within a couple weeks. Jayco was very responsive and I was pleased with the outcome. Good luck to you.

Had same headlight problem as you state. turns out at the factory they never attached to the adjuster because they needed to trim the headlight holes in the front. So they "tacked" the headlights in place at the factory! there fore no adjustment could be made. Dealer had to shave headlight hole and repaint. Then they had to attach to adjust and adjust. Just another proof of lack of quality workmanship from the Jayco factory!
