Headlight wiring Precept 31ul

I don’t poke around under the hood much, but today I was looking and found the plug picture attached that runs out from the headlight wiring harness. It might be something for optional fog lamps possibly since there’s one on each side... wondering if anyone knows and perhaps I can use it for something?

Stick a meter into it and have some one operate the headlight controls and see when you get 12v.

No power to the plug through the headlamp switch. When I'm in the mood, I'll pull the switch out of the dashboard and see if there's an additional wire/s up there. I seldom drive at night (avoid it at all costs!), so adding foglamps was more of a whim than a need.

Let us know what you find out. I want to ad fog lights as well and if the other end of that cable is behind the dash it will save a lot of work.

The word I got was that it was going to be for accent lighting but it never materialized so they didn't use it.

It was easy enough to pull out the headlight switch, but there is no evidence of the other end of the wires going to that plug. Seems like if I wanted to add foglamps the easiest way would be to pull new wires.

Fog lights on my ‘17 35S are controlled by a separate switch on the console to driver’s left where shade, leveling system and other switches are installed.
