Hot water tank

? If you were planning on taking a trip not for 7 weeks would you drain the tank and perhaps the fresh water tank or just leave them? How about the Black tank... Drain it or leave some water and chemicals in it. Asking for a friend.... Right buy that and I have a bridge for sale!!

In the summer my waste tabks are never completely empty. The moisture keeps the health bacteria going. Also keeps stuff from drying as solid as cement inside the tank.

For 7 weeks, I would drain the fw tank and hot water tank. Pending on your water, algae can grow, and sometimes the water heater tank will smell of rotten eggs.

We just got back from a trip last week. We won’t be going on another trip until August. We flushed out the black and grey tanks and filled the fresh water tank, and water heater. Then added 2 cups of bleach to the fresh tank. Let it sit for 2 days, then ran the treated water though all of the faucets and showers. Didn’t run the toilet…didn’t want bleach to mix with the chemicals. Then drained the fresh water tank and left it empty. I put about 2 gallons of fresh water in the toilet with some chemicals. Will fill and drain the fresh tank and water heater once more before we leave.

Have followed the same procedure for the past 5 years with no issues.

Not using for 2-3 weeks or more, I drain fresh and water heater or odd smelling water may develop. Waste tanks are fine.

I'd drain everything. Clean the black tank and that's it.
