How to adjust windshield power shade

2017 Precept 31UL.

How can I adjust how far the front powered shade comes down? When the key is in the ignition, it barely comes down at all. It comes all the way down, when the ignition is off. This is a major safety hazard if you drive at sunrise, or sunset. I understand the "lawyer" affect, but if you cause an accident, because you are blinded by the sun, and the "factory" has limited its travel, is Jayco liable? (I bet NOT.) Who in the heck would drive with the shade all the way down? There are stupid Warning Labels, all over this rig, just add one more to the shade, and let the operator decide how far it comes down.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you fix the problem? Ted

From what I read in the instruction manual for the shade, you can adjust only the shade for when the ignition is off. It's apparently pre-set for the ignition running. You can get around this by stopping, turning the ignition off, lowering the shade, then starting again.

With the ignition on mine comes down far enough that I can barely see the road ahead, so there must be an adjustment somewhere.

Super! Then there MUST be an adjustment.....somewhere. :-) When mine is powered down, with the ignition on, it barely covers the windshield tint. Ted

The msd installation manual has very detailed instructions on how to adjust the movement of the shade. If you did not get it in your big packet of manuals, go to the msd website and download it . Just follow the instructions. It is 10 minute job.
I adjusted mine and works perfectly when driving during sunset or sunrise.
Good luck.

Thank you Dave55. I guess my dealer didn't think the MSD Manuel was important. I'll look online for a manual. Thanks again. Ted

Here is a short, and I do mean short, video on how to set travel limits on day/night shade.

Looks pretty simple. I was wondering what the loose wire, and "learning switch" was for, hanging down from the end of the shade. Thanks for all your help. Ted
