jenson tv in precept

we have a new precept 2015 and so far, so good, but....we would like to hook up our satelite dish or even a cable connecton on the living room tv that comes out of the table. my husband really is good at stuff like this, but he can not find where you connect it, since we can't get behind the TV. We also do not have a Jenson manual. Help quickly, so we can watch the Browns on sunday. thanks

Just an "off comment". Jeeez, I don't feel so bad now knowing that I'm NOT the only one who didn't get a "Jensen" Entertainment manual ! Bedroom tv sucks ! Got to stand on bed and look right at it to see good picture. Only see shadows when laying down in bed. (or even sitting). the TV has to be "old stock" that they bought cheap!

Welcome and congrats on your Precept. We have had our 31 UL since July and really enjoy it.
Our cable and satellite connections are located in the water connections bay. I have to get on my knees to see them because they are located a little above the height of the door.
There are TV connections in the enclosed box next to the passenger's chair (right side) under the passenger's cup holder. Remove 4 screws and TADA.
Hope this helps,

Hey Darrell,
What TV connections are in the passenger chair box? Coaxial? HDMI? RCA? Any chance you have pictures. I have concerns about hooking up components to the TV like digital video players and video games for the kids. Up until now I was told I had to remove the valance from the window to get to the TV but if there are connections in the passenger box, I'd like to hear what you found in more detail.
Thanks......Joe

Hi Joe,
I was in a search and discover mode a while back and was curious about the "box" under DW's drink holder. I am real challenged with all the hookups and connections that are associated with TVs and components. I don't have any pics but I should be getting Bertha back from the dealer (after some minor warranty issues) soon. I will take pics and post them.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
Happy Thanksgiving.............so much to be thankful for.
Darrell

thanks d&makafun for the reply. We (my husband) did find the connections for the satelite in the water connection bay, but when he took the panel off under passenger drink holder, there were no connections there....just an electrical wire for the electrical outlet.....nothing else. . It is for the dvr (little black box that you point the remote at to change channels, and and on and off). Then we looked and felt all about the valance, and could nothing. Any tips on the valance thing or anywhere else?

the TV needs a tilting mount

The TV isn't the issue, it is that they needed to install a tilting TV mount for the TV and couldn't spend the extra $5 for a tilting model, instead of a non-tilting one. I complained and CW switched out my TV, but that was never the problem. I bought and installed the needed tilting mount (from walmart) in 5 minutes for about $25 and was done. (the non-tilting model was $20) Can see the TV perfectly from the bed now. Why, oh why couldn't they install the correct mount. It looks like it would be easier than listening to owner after owner griping about the TV not being viewable from the bed.

Wow ccsabathia................scary when they can't make up their mind where to put what. One poster some time ago indicated there were junctions for TV etc in the right side of the overhead storage above the passenger.
I have called customer service at Jayco on a couple of occasions and although it took a week or longer for them to respond, I did receive the info I was looking for.
Maybe a call or email to them will get some answers.
Keep us posted.
Thanks

That's the last place I saw the TV connections as well; in the passenger overhead. Darrell, do you happen to know what approximate date your unit came off the line? That would be a good gauge as to when they made the change.

Joe, I was told with my serial #, mine was the 2nd 2015 31UL off the line. I have no idea how much space there was between 2014 & 2015......maybe 30 minutes............lololololol
I'll see what I can find out.

No need, I was just trying to see when they made the change.
By the time I get mine the cables will be under the bed or something.

Well...I was at the dealer today and they let me disassemble the area around the passenger cup holder as well as around the valance of the dinette TV.
Box by the passenger only had wires for the electric outlet and nothing else. What was more alarming was, the TV on the dinette will NOT work on the inverter, only the generator. What's worse is once the ignition is turned, the TV powers off, even with the generator running. It is set up so that under no circumstances is that TV to be on while the engine is running; and it's a 2015. Disappointing......

Greetings all. My2cs......manufacturers probably set it up that way to avoid liability. Unfortunately there are a small % of people out there that will do stupid things & when it goes bad, they file lawsuits. We have never tried to operate TVs while traveling......especially the patio one.......sorry.
Another note....we retrieved Bertha yesterday from warranty work/dealer. I took pi s of the wiring components I found under Mary 's drink holder.
I will post them as soon as I get to a computer.
Later......Darrell

Having the TV behind the cab functioning while driving is a pretty common application in a class A coach.

OK, here are the pics of the wiring/cables under the drink holder on the passenger's side of the cockpit.
Hope this helps.

Wow that's AWESOME access. I wish the one I looked at had that.
On a side note we put a down payment on the 35UP yesterday. New floor plan that just came in and the wife fell in love.
Time to change my signature again...

What is really crazy and makes no sense whatsoever is the 2015 31ul, the TV would NOT work on the inverter AT ALL regardless of how much the house batteries were charged, but on the 2015 35UP is DOES work off the inverter with the TV's in the exact same location.
I'm thinking any Amish wiring is suspect...
I'll post some pics when we p/u...
