Landing gear lube

Thinking of putting some lube on my landing gear legs. Good idea or bad ?
If good should I use a white lithium or a marine grade lube ?

Thank you in advance for your replies

Lippert recommends a silicone lube. I use a spray I bought at Auto Zone.

Done and done. Thank you much. Sprayed them and ran up and down a couple of times.
