Leveler's

How do you retract Jack's at a slow controlled rate? I have one button "all Jack's retract". When hit they all retract NOW. When you need to relevel you need to start over. 2018 Jayco Precept 36T.

On mine you can enter "manual leveling" mode and retract jacks that way.

Mine also fully retracts all jacks when you use the auto-level function. Sometimes I end up manually adjusting the jacks after the auto-level has done its thing, or if I need to tweak something after everything has settled.

In manual mode, I haven't found a way to control each specific jack though. It only "raises or lowers" the front/rear/right/left which may mean extending or retracting pairs of jacks. There very well may be a way, I just haven't every messed with it enough to figure out if it's possible.

I got the iRV3 toad brake controller that includes a manual leveling display in the hub device. Works pretty well for manual leveling and done in a minute. I guess a bubble level would work just as well, though. The automatic leveling function (Alante 31V) is crap. 9 out of ten attempts it is way off.

The manufacturer has ways to recalibrate the auto level function. It's a weird process (I have the ones with springs) but does help and you can do. Also, I use auto level and then use a level on the kitchen floor before extending slides. Most times it's very good unless on a hill site. I may then go to manual and bias the level to raise driver's side a little. This is because my coach is often stationary for a month or so and the driver's side with two slides has more weight.

^^^^This, what Hawkster said is correct.

Manual retract opens your four jack valves while the springs pull them up forcing oil back to the tank. Slow as molasses in January.
