Little Sewer Hose Compartment ?

Has anyone with a Precept found use for the micro sewer hose compartment since most lengths of hoses will not fit into it? Just can't figure out what Jayco was thinking on that one

Will that compartment fit a macerator pump and 6 feet of grey garden hose?

At 5 inches diameter by 24 inches deep, it don't hold much!!!

Sounds like a 12VDC macerator pump would fit very nicely in there.

Still need a home for the hose, though....

Yes it would but...... would need to add a lock on the little door.

I had made a sewer hose tray on my prior FW because I don't like storing those things inside any compartment, even in a bin.

I run the exact opposite.

The sewer hose (3" slinky) stays in the vented bumper 100% of the time it not in use.

Wash thoroughly after handling. SWMBO opens the faucet and pumps the soap for me.

Since the 2016s have a macerator pump, perhaps that was the plan when they drew up the specs for the Precept. I haven't found much use for our sewer hose storage unit yet. If we had bumpers that would be a possibility for storage but like you said Steve, the bin in the basement is about the only option.

The Greyhawks are the same. I extended mine with a 90 and about 3' of extra pipe. Now I can use the sewer hose storage for sewer hose.

Our Octane has what sounds to be the same useless sewer hose storage pipe. I haven't yet figured out what to do with it either.

Being a toy hauler, our trailer lacks a rear bumper, so I don't even have that as an option. I wound up making something something very similar to the second picture on this blog page (not mine):

This isn't something new that Jayco is doing My 04 Jay Feather has the same small sewer hose storage, You would think that Jacyo would have made some improvements in the past 11/12 years or found a better way to store a normal length sewer hose.

I did the same on our Greyhawk. I cut the end of the pipe added a 45 elbow and as much pipe as space permitted then an end cap. Also on the greyhawk I found a space in the middle of the coach the had clearance from side to side so bought another door and added 8' pipe and a few hangers. Now that's storage!!!

I am going to extend the pipe on our Precept but use a storage container.

I have an sewer extension hose that fits perfectly. Would have rather had a storage place for a full size hose.
