lp furnace

New member

For cold weather travel, can the lp furnace be used on the road? Seems chassis heat system maybe inadequate for long trip, and AC heat unit may not work well at low ambient temp.

They say you can but keep it low and turn it off when getting fuel or going through tunnels. It will pull from your batteries but you alternator should keep up. Check to make sure your slide outs aren't covering any of the vents because the furnace might not work right if the vents are blocked. My slide outs don't block the vents. If you were running your generator you could probably use an electric heater if you can set it not to fall over even though it would probably shut off unless it was make in the 50s

Welcome Aboard!

Yes you can, as noted above, there are some restricted areas, so just be aware.

Others will run the genny, and use the AC/heat pump.
