Mattress/UV (and any other) Suggestions for 2018 Precept 36T

I am picking up my new 2018 36T on Tuesday. I already know that we will require an upgrade for the Queen mattress. I love my kids, but I love my wife more, so I'm just upgrading the master. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I was thinking about the Dynasty mattress found on amazon.

Also, has anyone else installed a U/V water filter? I am considering a prefilter CLEARSOURCE 3 stage and the Pelican pro10. I know it seems like overkill, but I have 2 boys with Cystic Fibrosis, so I am ok with that.

Any other suggestions for a 1st time owner are appreciated!

After a few nights we replaced our short queen with a Zinus short queen, 10 inch thick model. No complaints other than the under bed storage is harder to access due to the 50 lb weight of the memory foam vs. the cardboard filled cheapo that maybe weighted 15 or 20 pounds.

Lots of posts on memory foam vs other types. Several brands. Zinus sells it's mattress at very competitive rates and gives a 100 day return guarantee if not satisfied.

We have 'love my mattress' (Google them). Double sided coil spring mattress. They custom make and can duplicate the radius on the bottom edges. Delivered to my door less than a week. About $520. Everything made in USA no Chinese components. Have slept on for two months straight and it's great.

I would recommend a memory foam mattress that is advertised to be "gel infused" or any such verbiage that indicates more of that material, other than straight memory foam.

I have the same Zinus, RogerR has.....it DOES sleep warmer (to me) than the previous OEM inner spring...which was junk by the way!!

We have memory foam at home but still using the Jayco factory supplied mattress if you can believe that. DW and I both like this mattress, better than our memory foam at home.

When we took the motorized plant tour in 2017 Randy West, our CS specialist apologized for the mattress when we reached that part of the tour. He was really surprised to hear that we actually like it.

While we recognize that it is an "el Cheapo" mattress neither of us get up in the morning with achy joints like we do sometimes with the memory foam.

As it is commonly said on the interweb "YMMV", or your mileage may vary.

We just ordered from Mattress Insider, www.mattressinsider.com. They have several options, but what sold us was their return policy if you're not happy with it. You don't return it, you donate it. Since its just about impossible to return a ship a mattress cost effectively Mattress Insider provides an authorization to donate. You send them a copy of your donation receipt and they refund your money. We went with their 8" luxury plush. I can let you know if its a win or not once we get it, but with their returns strategy its as close to risk free as you can get when mattress shopping.

Thanks for all the advice...I picked her up yesterday and am looking forward to our first trip. I went cheap topper on amazon first, if that is not enough I suspect I will be looking into www.mattressinsider.com.

I went with a Pelican Water household U/V filter and a CLESRSOURCE 3 filter system in front of it. Funny, who would have thought that the most intimidating thing about a class A is NOT driving it, but remembering all the tank and water stuff...sheesh.

Your bed may sag in middle due to thin board underneath. The cheap mattress will sag on it's own. You can upgrade the board.

We purchased a gel topper from Costco after our first night of camping. I think it ran about $160, and has been wonderful. Comes with a ten year warranty and a large cover for the toppe4 and original POC. DWand I are very happy with our purchase.

Mattress Topper

I am going the topper route this year too. We spent about 50 nights on the factory bed in our 2018 Alante last summer and my wife complained it was too soft. After much researching I have ordered the My Pillow topper at just under $300 to try out this summer. Will have first trip in early April (if I can get my coach out of the snow) and then a 4 month marathon this summer. Didn't want to put $600-$800 or more into a new mattress and hope it feels good. We use My Pillow products now and like them.

So, we received our Mattress Insider mattress and I'm impressed with it so far. It's most easily described as soft and firm. It doesn't feel stiff, and you do feel like you sink into it a little, but you're not stuck in a hole or unable to roll over. It took about 8 hrs for it to fully expand and it has a slight odor, but nothing too bad and it dissipated pretty quickly. For the money I'm definitely happy with it.
