Motorized Plant Tour

A shout out to Randy West in Jayco Customer Service for conducting a tour of the motorized division plant last week while we were in Middlebury, IN.

There were Alante's on the Class A line and we got to see a Class A build from the chassis up to the finished product.

Now that I've see what goes into the manufacturing process I feel much more comfortable with the construction of my 35S coach. If you find yourself in the Elkhart area of Indiana it will be worth your time to set up a plant tour.

Note that plant tours are typically restricted or completely suspended for the last week of the month.

We did the tie last month and found it interesting and worth the stop.

Do you have to call ahead? We will be driving right by there next month.

You can schedule a trailer plant tour fairly easy. Motorized plant tours are harder to get into. It pays if you know anyone in customer service if you want to go through the motorized plant.

The contract we had was Cody Troyer, Cody_Troyer@jayco.com. He scheduled us and kept in contract until our tour date. Motorized tours are generally M - F at 1pm and last about one hour.
