New Jayco 34G

We should take possession of our new-to-us 2019 Precept 34G this coming week. Experienced RVers, but new to Jayco Class A.

Any comments or recommendations from anyone?

We love our 34G. Some typical things.. power steps are stuck every spring. We put on a safe-t-steer plus and a rear track bar, drove across Canada no tail wagging or much in the way of push from oncoming or passing transports. Definitely not built for cold weather camping, roast in the bedroom area and freeze in the living room.. No heat vents past the kitchen sink and that one points towards the bath. We spent a winter in British Columbia in ours...

We have considered taking out the love seat and putting in lower cabinets and a counter top.

But all in all a great motor home.

Jmurray65, thank you for those observations. Any others would be welcome.

Has anyone with a 34G or similar Precept ever added a 3rd AC in the salon area?

Grzly... this may help some?

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...34g-81805.html

3rd A/C would be a hard install, e.g., tying into the existing ductwork, ceiling/roof frame support for the A/C unit weight and 120v AC, 20a mp circuit run from breaker pnl to 3rd A/C. I guess you could install the 3rd unit in the exhaust fan opening in the kitchen/dining area?

Why do you think you'd need a 3rd A/C unit?

3rd AC

We spend a lot of time in central and southern AZ, and in Southern CA. The temps in Lake Havasu and other AZ locations get to 110 degrees and higher on the worst days. We previously had a DRV 5th wheel which we added the 3rd AC to, and it worked out great for us. It was (and will be) non-ducted, just a direct dump. Yes, I know, more noise! In the DRV, we put it in the exhaust fan hole, I think, and the wiring was easy for a really good tech at Whiskey Mountain RV.

So there you are!

Thanks for responding,

I use my 2019 34G in South Florida. Never felt the need for an extra AC.

We are headed to Lake Havasu tomorrow, and the forecast is for 114°, so it'll be a good test.
