new precept
Going to order a new Precept 31UL this week. My wife and I cant agree on the larger Ref. I know we lose a pantry cabinet if get the larger one. We are looking for any thoughts on this, favoring one or the other.

We went with the larger fridge because of a couple of factors. We love to cook and we don't always tow a car which makes going to the grocery store a pain. We like to camp for extended periods at a time and load up the fridge.

Welcome! It's not a Precept, but we went with the larger fridge when ordering our Eagle. Similar to Mustang Pete, we generally load up at home, especially as DW has a gluten intolerance and finding GF food on the road can be a challenge

Here's my 2 cents. I have the larger ref and enjoy the advantages it provides ( more cold beer). As said below, you must look at your own needs and situation to make many decisions on this and others questions not only about options but also modifications. But, regarding this decision, you have a lot of storage area in the 31 UL to cover groceries.

Welcome to our group
I'd suggest you go with the large Frig. It's nice for packing at home and not having to go to stores while away. Also, you can put anything that you'd put in the pantry into the frig.

x2 BobsAClass. We've found we have plenty of storage (in & out) so a larger pantry instead of the larger refrigerator was not necessary. We're very glad to have the extra cold space.
Goold luck & welcome!

Congrads on the new 31 UL, we just took delivery of ours and love it. We have the larger frig and really like having the additional cold storage. as someone said earlier, there seems to be plenty of storage space without the additional pantry you lose. Also the ice maker will come in real handy.

vortrecker....CONGRATULATIONS in advance. I see you found us on the Precept Owners Group. That's great
As for the 4 door fridge.............we are sooooooo happy after having the 2 door smaller in our last 2 RVs.................is that a X4,5,6?
Happy, Happy

I would never go back to the small fridge. Ice maker is a plus and it will hold 11' frozen pizzas. There is plenty of other storage for canned foods.

We had the same discussion and went with the smaller fridge and pantry. Happy with the decision and the extra storage, although it would have been much better if the pantry was a slide out.
