New toad for Alante 26

We just bought a 2016 Ford Focus hatchback to use secondarily as a toad. We would be grateful for any thoughts and reccomendations on:
  1. Best tow bar;
  2. Best braking system (needs to be inconspicuous and easy);
  3. Best mud screen.
Thanks!

I always liked the blue ox base plates and tow bars. Other than the electrical connection on the front for the umbilical it's quite discrete. Especially on my car which had black plastic grill inserts in the lowers portion of the front. The Jetta is diesel (still have it even after the motor home is gone) so it was a commuter car. Looking normal mattered for me.

Brake buddy with proportional control was my favourite for brake control. My Jetta had to have to accessory outlet modified so it had power while steering was unlocked and the car was off. That was pretty easy compared to a baseplate install of course.

Tow bar

I have a 2016 Alante 26x and I use a blue ox set up and brake buddy , I bought a used brake buddy and run the setting low as I want the car to break when I really need it not just at ever small braking condition . Towing Honda Element

We use the roadmaster blackhawk towbar, base plates and RVi brake - both are excellent - over 30K trouble free miles.
