I agree that it should be in the glass itself. IIRC, the windows are actually "automotive" glass all around. So the tint should be in the color of the glass.
You could always find a corner in an inconspicuous place and take a really close look. I seriously doubt there will be a film on the surface of the glass. At least not from the factory.
I intend to tint the glass in my motorhome. For the "house" windows, I'll use a residential grade tint film applied to the inside of the glass. For the cab & windsheild, I'll use a tint installer, and he'll likely install a film to the inside of the cab windows and windshield (clear on the windshield, but will have a UV blocker).
