Question Precept 35S Stove Vent

What tool do you use to unlatch and re-latch the stove vent? It would be nice if Jayco would provide a tool to enable us vertically challenged folks to reach the latches.

We used to use our awning extension rod with previous motorhomes but have found with our current motorhome that when leaving it unlatched it doesn't rattle going down the road and it closes unless the fan is on.

Thank You

That's the same tool I used with our old towed trailer, which I left in the trailer for the new owner. I used to leave it unlatched, until I lost the cover while driving.

I'm not so concerned about the rattle, but more about insects getting in while in storage. I just found an extension tube for pool vacuums. It's the right size to handle and extends out 12 feet. I got it from Lowe's for $20.

On my last coach the flap was spring loaded and I didn't have to mess with it, the one on my Jayco is high up, needs fingers of steel to open it, and if I leave it open then it bangs going down the road. I finally just left it un-latched and attached a velcro loop that I can release and re-attach with a small hook I added to the end of my extendable cleaning pole.
