Pricing on Precept 31UL

Hello,
I'm new to motorhomes. We've been looking for about a month and have settled on the Precept 31UL. We had also looked at the FR3 31DS and the Winnebago SightSeer 36. We are in the process of negotiations and have been offered a 2015 for the price of $89,835.00 + tax and title. The MSRP is $127K. It has the larger refrigerator and no overhead bunk. They are also throwing in full tanks of gas and propane, no charge for dealer prep. They are bringing in the motorhome from a different sight. We go back on Saturday to test drive and inspect it. It seems to be a fantastic price, just wondered what the other owners thought of this deal.

Welcome. Lots of Precept folks on here. Expect some feedback shortly. BTW, gas, propane and prep are not deal sweeteners, they should be expected by any reputable dealer. See if you can get slide toppers or fan covers or something like that thrown in. . Good luck

Thanks Bikester. I believe the slide toppers are already included as standard equipment. I didn't realize the dealer prep should already be included, they said they usually charge $500. They even showed that on the invoice, but crossed it out and said they were throwing that in, NO charge. I had read about the fan covers in a different thread, that sounds like a good idea.

pricing...

we will be taking delivery of 2015 31UL next week here in SF Bay Area.
I had quotes of $87,300 from Rv Direct with Iowa P/U and $87,995 from
RV Connection with Delivery to Richardson RV in So.Cal
(more convenient for me in SF area).

The quotes were based on: ALL options - 12cu.ft. fridge, Drop Down Bunk.

The 31UL I will be getting has a MSRP of $131k. The Local Dealer had the
sticker price of $103,000. After showing them quotes and haggling,
THEY DID Give me the SAME $87,995 price. But, the are charging me
$1k for Dealer Prep, PDI, etc.

Thanks for the responses. I've gotten two other quotes from nearby states. RVone in NY gave me the best price so far. They quoted $84,785 which included a $75 doc fee and no dealer prep fee. The other dealer in Michigan gave me a price of $85,000, no doc fees or prep fees. I'm going to go back to our local dealer tomorrow and see if they will be willing to match the price. If not, NY is only a 4 hour drive.

Well, we pulled the trigger this evening. We got the local dealer to drop the price another $4050. We ended up getting it for $85,785.00 + tax and title. I'm very happy with the deal. We do the walk through on April 4th.

Arnie, it's still pretty cold here in Ohio. Our first trip out will probably be somewhere close to home. Just to get a handle on how everything works. Not sure after that. Mostly campgrounds in states close to Ohio. Retirement is still 5 years away. Then it will be traveling south for the winter.
