We are 6.8 miles apart, same side of I10 but you are off of 95 and I am back west along the frontage road East.

It took me about 45 minutes to get to the pinnacles after leaving the hard road because of heavy washboard, hopefully they will do some maintenance before you get there!

We camped there a few nights in November. While we had zero tv channels and T-Mobile didn't work at all, we were able to stream Netflix using AT&T. Hubby also could get Internet on his phone with Verizon. So there is the possibility of some Internet at least during slower times of the year.
We just visited for the day during the show this year, and my AT&T was noticably slower when I tried to look up info while at the show. I guess those towers get completely overwhelmed when everyone is there.

We had all of the Tv channels except ABC way out on Dome Rock Road, there is an unlisted TV repeater in town, most people point the antenna the other way. The town repeater is low power, only about 10 miles line of sight, I guess just for the locals.

Depends on where you were parked, if you were north of Quartzsite along 95 then pointing your antenna SW would have picked up the local low power transmitter. I was off Dome Rock Road West of town so pointing my antenna a bit north of East got me all of the channels. You could not have been picking up Yuma on your RV antenna as it was 90 miles away with hills in between. It seems the local low power Xmitter is not listed on any app so I am thinking it is private.

Yep, you were getting the local channels, if you look at a map and draw a straight line from Palamosa rd east of 95 to Yuma you cut right thru Quartzsite 10 miles LOS, Yuma on the other hand is over 100 miles.

I have never been to AZ, but want to go next January.

I hear Quartzsite is a big place, can some of you please tell me a good, safe place to boondock? I will need to charge the batteries with my generator daily as I do not have solar yet.

We prefer a place that is not too rough to travel on... I do not want to tear up my Jayco or Diesel truck.

A place where other Jayco travel trailer folks park would be real nice.

Thanks for your help.

Well, in January you will have a lot of company and there will be plenty of places, I recommend going the second week to get there ahead of the rush, there will be 100K RV'ers arriving the 3rd weekend. I prefer upper Dome Rock road, about here 33.6389138,-114.304112, from the West exit I-10 at Dome Rock Road and go straight at the stop sign staying on the frontage road for 1.5 miles. You will see plenty of camping sites on the right, from 50' off the road to 1/2 a mile depending on how much room you want. I have seen plenty of DP and TT's back in there. One word of caution, on your 1st trip stop just off the road and unhook to use your Toad as a recon vehicle, there are a couple of roads that have some pretty steep/deep washes where you won't be able to go, or turn around so check out the area and scout a way in. The roads are not bad otherwise I had no problem with my Class A.

Another area that people like is off of 95 north of town on Plomoasa Rd anywhere you like, it is an easy drive in and the road is graded gravel, the turn off of 95 is about here 33.7488689,-114.2165453

There are numerous places to pull off and park, some are 'hosted' sites where you can get a water or pump out truck if you're staying that long. We don't need that as we have huge tanks, and I can make water runs if needed.

Go to Youtube and look up Quartzsite, I kept hearing about it and one look at the videos turned me off. It looks like a dusty dirty homeless camp, I don't understand why anyone would camp here besides being free.
