Rear Camera

Hello There!
I have a 21' Jayco Elanta 27A (new to us) and wondering if all the rear cameras have an "always on" option. looking to monitor our tow vehicle while traveling and as soon as we place into drive the camera goes blank. If not, what brand would you recommend?

Not from the factory. I assume that your camera video is in your dash mounted radio screen. There is a video controller inside the dash that takes a "trigger" signal from either the left blinker light, the right blinker light, or the reverse lights.
You could wire in switch to always display the rear view camera, by finding a 12volt source under the dash, and running it through the switch to turn on the camera while you are driving.

I just did an upgrade to my 31UL and added a separate monitor that can display any camera I want at any time, and actually displays all 3 cameras full time. it also still works with the trigger signal.

It was not hard to do, but requires some wiring skills. I could post some pictures and wiring diagrams of my install if needed.

Rear camera

Thank you Vic. Unfortunately, we are not handy enough to do it ourselves but we know someone who could. However, the screen/radio is in an odd spot so may consider getting a screen for the dash.

I have a 2021 Precept 36h, I can scroll through the screen on the radio (the screen that changes inputs i.e bluetooth, radio, xm, etc) and hit rear camera view. This will keep the rear camera on the display unless the turn signals are applied then it will show the side cameras but switch back to the rear camera automatically.

Hi,
2021 Alante 27a here also. Like Johnsat said, just scroll the main screen
and theres a tab that says rear camera, hit it and camera stays on unless using
directionals.

Same on 36 emblem. Try scrolling the white boxes on the lower of your screen. Push them over and you should see a camera tap it
