Rear ladder on a 2017 Precept

Hi,

We recently purchased a 2017 Jayco Precept 35S and there are no rear ladder on it. Does someone know if a rear ladder from a 2016 model would fit on a 2017. I have heard that the backing is already installed behind the surface, on the left rear side, but want to be sure before I purchased a rear ladder and installed it. I also want to make sure it will be solid.

Thanks,

Can I give you some advice? DON'T INSTALL A LADDER. They are pretty junky to begin with and require you to puncture your roof membrane to install. I bought my Jayflight with a ladder and have used it a handful of times. Instead I bought a collapsible ladder that I can store anywhere. It was far cheaper, far sturdier, far more useful (I can lean it against the sidewall next to the slide to blow leaves off the slide, I can use it against a tree to hang a rope for laundry line, etc) and best of all... NO PUNCTURES THROUGH MY ROOF!

I got mine on Amazon for under $80 a couple years ago. Its aluminum, supports over 300 lbs and folds up small enough to fit in the truck, the camper, under the bed, in a storage compartment, etc.

What ladder do you have?

If you do a search on Amazon for telescoping ladders you get a bunch of options. We have a 2018 Alante (no ladder), and got one that fits in In the storage compartment and came with a bag to store it in.

I'm with you. I destroyed the ladder on my 2016 precept and installed a new one. Same as original from the factory. It is so shoddy I refuse to take my 200 lbs up it and use a ladder I bought to get on the roof. I was able to beef up the bottom part of the factory ladder with a steel plate but still don't trust it. Most of the time I put my ladder near the slide and can use the slide as a good hand/foot climbing aid.

Thanks to all. I guess I will check on Amazon, I am a Prime customer and can get a telescopic 16' long below $200.00. So I will go with this instead of drilling holes, etc.

Thanks again!
