Use the macerator quite often, particularly if my stay is a few days or less. Will use the conventional system when staying longer in a park, so I can keep the gray flowing freely.

I too experience wild readings on my tank gauges. Generally, if add a bunch of water and dawn dishwashing detergent after I dump, the gauges will return to normal after I swish the detergent around when driving from point A to point B.

Good advise FlaBound and JesseS. I'll try the dawn idea, hoping it works. I'll check on the See Level too, hoping its not too many $$. I figured there must be a better system than the build-in, lame one.

Now, how do you flush the black tank with the macerator pump? Can you use the flush system or have to refill?

Just use the black water flush and leave the macerator on. There is enough water flowing to lubricate the bearing in the motor. Also if possible only drain you tanks when they almost full. It really helps to keep the sensors clean. If need be, use a flashlight and look down the toilet. If you see water close to the top and sensors show full, time to dump. Also you can use a toilet wand they help clean the sensors.

I always dump the black first while running the black tank flush. Then close black tank valve and open up grey valve to clean it out. I will let the black tank flush run for a minute, after I shut the black tank valve, just to have some water in the tank to dissolve the chemical pack.

Thanks JesseS. Can you tell me where you installed the panel for the SeeLevel? inside the coach? Near the existing panel? Was it difficult to thread the wires? Would appreciate any advice.

I just leave the grey valve open and let the water flow through the macerator then the day before I dump the black I close the valve to build flush water. I have not needed to run the macerator when the grey is open as the water runs through the pump with the pump off. I only run it when dumping the black and then the grey.

I did replace the hose as it developed a leak which became evident when using a 3/4 discharge hose at home. Luckily it was while pumping the grey. I hope the new hose is the new more robust hose.

Does anyone have the p\n of the new robust hose that has an outer sheath cover? I can only find the old p\n online. If not I will give the mfg a call.

I do. Early on, my original line had a leak (while under warranty). They replaced it with a line that has a heavy duty black "sheath". Is more substantial, but less flexible. Will not expand as far as the original.

I was slightly apprehensive to use the macerator on our 2017 35S, but now that I have been using it I would never want to go back to the slinky setup. I don't have to store lots of extra dirty hoses and use valuable storage space any more. Not to mention the pump pulls the "crap" out rather than waiting for gravity. Very cool system and very much an improvement over the old way. I also leave our gray open and then close it close to when we will be leaving for rinse water to build up. A little more room for the hose to store would've been nice, but it can fit.

Hi everyone. I just purchased an Eagle HT 29.5bhds that has the Sanicon system installed. My question involves winterizing. Is there anything special that has to be done? Can you still blow the lines with air, or does antifreeze have to be routed though the macerator?

Thanks!

Hey neighbor, we're up 203 in Monroe/Snohomish. Not much to winterize the macerator. Just drain all the water out pour a cup of RV antifreeze in a sink drain and open the gray tank gate valve so the pink stuff gets in there. We have pretty mild winters so not to much to worry about.

I use antifreeze and have the grey tank open and black closed. once I see the antifreeze at all the faucets I allow the sanicon to drain for a little while into a bucket, then after 20-30 minutes I put the cap on the hose and put it away, I then pour a few cups down each drain to fill the traps and allow that to get down into the macerator. No problems yet and I winterize the unit two to three times each winter for our trips south.

I assume you are using antifreeze for the traps so I would just put a bunch down the drains after allowing as much water out as possible.
