Mike, thanks for the info on the extenders..

My wife hasn't driven yet...
but the seats on our Precept (even after having dealer adjust them forward)
are still far away even for me. I use a patio cushion behind my back to
help with the distance.

If/when my wife starts driving these extenders will be a fantastic upgrade!

Shorter wife!

Hello soperman,
My wife is only 5 feet tall and could not reach any pedals! We told our salesman that if the seat could not be moved, then there was no sale. It took quite a bit of back and forth, and getting under the seat myself to finally find the solution. I showed them how to undo the seat at the pedestal and move it forward. This only required one bolt that needed to be moved to adjust the seatbelt position.

We are now both happy campers!

Seems a lot less expensive than getting a longer wife!

Not at all. I really need to get to storage and take pics, but if anyone takes a minute to look at the seat base and see where the seat belt receptacle mounts, you'll see what an easy fix this is.

Still waiting for word from the dealership as to whether they can, or will, move the seat. My wife can't reach the pedals, and I can just reach the gas pedal... can't have my heal on the floor, and that's very tiring when were not on roads where we can use the cruise control.

Don't wait for the dealership, if you can tighten a bolt, you can do it yourself.

I think you'll find that the seat can't easily be moved, at least in my 2016 Alante 26AX.

What we ended up doing was purchasing pedal extensions. Took some time to get used to them but Cathy can comfortably drive.

Took me 10 minutes with hand tools, all from inside the cab. 2017 Alante 31V. Pretty easy honestly.

Sorry I am coming into this late. I purchased a 2018 Precept 31 UL in April. Jayco has had this problem for years with the seats being too far from the peddles! I am 5'7" and my wife 5'2". On my sales order I had the adjustment to both seat 6" forward. They could not do it but they reinbursed me to have it done since it was on my sales contract. I had a certified DOT and Ford conversion handicap van dealer complete this for just under $600.00 for both seats. They did not c hange the base location. They removed the upper seat from the mechanized base. They lengthened the position rails with a thicker flat iron that was 6" longer. The thicker rail accounted for the longer cantilever. Then they reinstalled the upper seats back on the base and rails. They now transverse 6" closer and we can drive safely. Hope this helps"
