shower wall

I have been meaning to ask. We have a 2018.5 31UL (which is currently hibernating). Our shower enclosure is your standard rv plastic surround. The top of the shower is not sealed, meaning there is a gap between the wall and the shower wall. I would think this would be sealed up with some kind of caulk so that there is no way for water to get between rv wall and the shower wall. Do other people also have this gap or is this something that they missed when installing.

There's probably no consistency on the factory using a caulk or sealant at the top of the shower wall. Generally speaking, it is assumed there isn't much water up there, hopefully the shower head fitting is not above the wall, but if it is, there's likely still little concern for sealing the wall. On our 2007 Eagle with the tub/shower, it was not sealed. Our current HT is not either.
If you have much of a gap or feel water or condensation is getting in there, you can caulk it rather easily.
In some cases, caulking that joint can become a bit of a maintenance issue if the plastic wall expands and contracts with temperature fluctuation, which could cause the caulk to separate along that seam.
For what it's worth, the entire wall behind that shower wall has the same "wallpaper" that is on the visible surfaces of the walls. Though I wouldn't want a lot water to get i there, some small moisture isn't likely to be of great concern.

It's not caulked to allow any condensation between the enclosure and the wall to evaporate.
