Question Storage doors random open

We are having issues with our storage doors. They will randomly open even when locked. Is anyone else experiencing this? We are considering putting on different locks. 2016 Precept 34S

Check to make sure they have the right length tongue or cam that sticks up from the back of the lock and rotates up to make a latch. Kind of like the deadbolt being to short to go into the wall far enough to latch a house door. I have seen locks with long and short ones so maybe longer ones would be the fix you need. Yours could also be the wrong style. You could even buy a short piece of bar stock and make a longer cam. They could also have used the bent style cam on the back and you need a straight one. Last, maybe add something to the frame to give the cam a better thing to latch against.

I installed these clips to each of my doors for traveling. They don’t keep them from opening but keep them from opening all the way.

I had a problem with one of my storage doors in the beginning. It would not always stay solidly closed. My easy fix was to slightly bend the metal tang that the lock engages when it closes. The lock now grabbed it better and the problem never returned in 5 years.

I have had this happen many times in my 2021 Alante. The worst part is that the door open behind the bed slide which I dont see and then when I go to open it gets jammed on one of the open doors. Tweaks the whole slide out. Done it twice and scary as hell. Put a note near the slide button now to check all drawers first....
