Tank heaters

I was just wondering.....does anyone use tank heaters on there FRESH WATER tank?
I'm debating on weather or not to install a couple of them!
I'm thinking if I can get the warmer water heater faster we won't have as much water going down the drain! WE DO RECYCLE SOME OF THE COLD WATER FOR TOILET FLUSHING BUT SOMETIMES THERE'S JUST TO MUCH TO KEEP FOR THAT!
YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE 😃

The water coming out of the tank can be really cold when its below freezing at night.

I do not use a heating pad, That water can be extremely cold, when it is 20 degrees out.

Lots of people hate the pads, as they tend to fall off the tanks. They are power hogs, if you are boondocking. Pending on the Pad it looks like they put out around 65 watts. You probably loose about 50% directly to the air (1/2 pad is exposed to the air, but heat does rise). I guess you will get about 30-40 watts of heat into the tank. It will add warmth, Not sure if it will bring the tank up to 50 degrees or so.

Tank heaters will not help. The water you are talking about is in the lines after the water heater, it will not get the hot water there any faster. The water from the tank is before the water heater

I have to admit, I was thinking of the water in the cold water lines, might be a bit warmer. I can tell you from experience, when it is below freezing at night the cold water is COLD! Not really fun for washing up.

Anyone ever thought of plumbing in a low flow pump that continuously circulates the fresh water through the lines and back to the fresh tank? Keep things slowly moving? Maybe even a little in-line heater to push a few joules of heat into the water?

Someone with a Class C MH posted a couple months back, that he insulated his (exposed) pipes, added heat tape with a controller (on/off cycle time). If I recall he also added a return loop.

As mentioned tank heating pads have a tendency to fall off, unless you support them with plywood. I used a plywood platform under the tank and use regular heat-tape, just read the instructions. It is good for -25C and skirting is also recommended. A outlet from the furnace is needed for the gray and black tanks. Discharge black and gray tank need also heat tape.

If possible install waterlines inside the coach, and install heat tape on the suction line.

My black and gray tanks already have tank heaters factory installed.
My cold water is coming in at about 45°, the tank heater is set at 120° but the water doesn't seem to want to get above 101°!
I recently changed the water pump, I'm wondering if the pressure is a little low.....I think that could be a cause......there is a flow adjustment.
Just wondering, it's not a big deal.
