Tank Heaters Question

We have a 2017 Precept 31UL that came with tank heaters. I have read the owners manual and I know it says the tank heater switch should be off when the tanks are empty. If we are in a place where we are needing to use the tank heaters but then need to empty our black and/or grey tank does that mean we then need to turn off the tank heaters until there is a certain amount of liquid in those tanks?
