Temperature monitor

Hi. Does anyone have any information on temperature monitors in the motorhome
We are going to be traveling this summer with our Golden Retriever and I was wondering about a monitor that would alert me if the temp got hot in the rv if we are not there. I plan on leaving the ac on but if the power goes out???

There are dozens of pet monitors available now. Look at Waggle

There are several options out there if you search
RV Temperature Monitor, but I am considering this one...Changing Lanes (Chad and Tara) made a youtube video of there's and some comparisons...

You don't tell us what motorhome you have. That's a good place to start since there are different features on different motorhomes.

We have a 2021 Alante. Does it matter which motorhome you have?

Yes, do you have an on board generator? If you do you can set it to start in the event of a power failure.

I do have an onboard generator. I didn’t know we could do that. We just got the motorhome
Is there a switch on the generator? I’ll try going thru the manual. Thanks!

Here's a pic of the generator controller in my Precept 34G..... to set auto start, temp, etc. You should have something similar.

It does matter as some Class A RVs have automatic generator start. The Allante does not or at least did not a couple years ago, the 2021 may be different. Cehck your systems to make sure, but if you do not have it, you can add on the standalone AGS from Magnum Energy (ME-AGS-S). This is what I did and it has the ability to start based on temprature and DC voltage, so if the power goes out either of these two settings could trigger the generator to start.

I would end up doing both, a system to monitor and alert you, as well as the AGS, which will allow for remediation without your intervention. It has saved us at least once when we came back to the RV and the pedestal breaker had popped and the generator was on keeping our dog cool.

Thanks so much for the info. If we don’t have that control on the generator we will get the AGS and temperature monitor. Its our first trip and I’m trying to think of everything we may need!
