Thank You for your help
Thanks to folks who suggested that the constant hum under the bed of my Precept 31 UL was caused by a faulty AC Power Transfer Switch. Even though the customer service people at Jayco did not think this was the problem, they sent me a new switch. I had it installed and I finally can get a good night sleep.
Also, the thread about having the rear window replaced with one that stays open and has a screen was awesome. Just had my new window installed and I am looking forward to having more air flow while camping. It was tough going as Kinro the original manufacturer appeared to be out of business. However, I discovered that they were bought by Lippert RV Parts. They were not yet familiar with the Kinro windows so it took some time. But was able to get the correct replacement window.

Rear window replacement for 31 Precept 31UL
The customer service person at Lippert that helped me is Linday Vicary. She can be reached at 574-312-7402 (direct) or customer service at 574-537-8900.
window
Item No. V000341352 3000 EPW 30x36x17 G20 TP BK W/SCRN $372
clamp ring
Item No. 2439261 8505-1 30.0x36.0; BLK $30
Window is direct replacement for original. Opens at bottom and has screen. Still an Exit window. I ordered a new clamp ring in case the original was damaged during removal.
Joe
Please let us know about the trip to Southern Utah when you have the details

You don't have to replace the window. All you have to do is install a handle and catch ($20) on the window and get a screen made. I have all the info at home I can post later.

I have been mostly updating on the Jayco Precept Owner group forum
regarding the Precept rally... are you on this forum?
also, I see you are in Lockeford. I'm in fremont.
maybe we can setup a place to camp out/meet somewhere in the area...

First thing I want to say is I'm not done with this mod. I ordered the part below from Amazon and installed it. At the time my first priority was to get more circulation in the bedroom. We have few insects here in Western Washington so not having the screen yet wasn't a concern and I know how to kill flying insects. I'll have a custom screen built this winter. After I get the screen I'll take off the latch and the little metal plate in the inside part of the window frame and that's where the prop rod will go thru and then I'll put the prop rod latch on. Basically I will have full converted this into an opening exit window. This hardware that I bought was the same as out opening exit window on our travel trailer. I'll post pics when it's done.

Vicr,
Did you add the screen and inside latch point?

Nick, I have to order the radiused corners to make the screen then I will install the latch for the handle. Between work and the weather I just haven't gotten to it yet. I didn't want to drill the rivets out to install the latch until I had a screen plan.

Makes good sense to me. I was back in the bedroom this morning and it was pretty warm. Searched for and found your post so I've ordered the handle. My window frame has the slot for the handle, just need a screen.

Rest of the screen frame?
Assume you already had the straight pieces?
