Toad Setup

I recently purchased a 2013 wrangler to tow behind my Class A
The loal RV dealer quoted me 5600 to set the jeep up to flat tow That includes everything i need plus install That seems a liitle on the high siide given the cost of the parts needed . Any advice would be helpful

Seems a little steep. 3500 would be the max I would pay but with the increase in pricing these days who knows.

You haven't listed what equipment the dealer was to provide so we can't comment on the price.

Which means they are charging about 2200-2500.00 just for the install.

Same config install last summer in FL. $4500
Find a local shop, not dealer.

I had the same shock when putting pretty much the same system in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler, just road master instead of Blue Ox. I received quotes from $4,800 to $6k.

Do some of it yourself

Why don’t you have a local body shop install your tow plate, and do the rest of it yourself?

I had my tow plate installed for $150.00 ( I did not want to scratch up the front clip). I installed a RVI braking system, and lights on my own (6 hours max). You will
Save a bunch of cash.

I purchased all parts in the internet (large trailer company) this way you do. It pay a the dealer markup.

I did the baseplate and towbar myself. Both are Roadmaster. I did not want a clunky braking system that I had to put between the seat and pedal every time to tow and then find a place to stow it later so I went with the Duo Stay and Play brake system. One switch to turn the system off and on. That I started to do myself and then realized that the JL is way different than earlier Jeeps and turned it over to my Jeep shop. They charged me $800 and it was well worth it. The entire system/setup cost me around $3K or so.

So bottom line to this is you are getting hosed with that quote. Also there are a number of threads here on various types of equipment and the search feature at the top of the page in the gold bar will find some for you to review and help with a decision.
