Towing a Jeep Wrangler

We tow a Jeep Wrangler with our 31UL and I turn on my rear camera to remind myself it is back there. Hooking up and un-hooking takes about 5 minutes with the telescoping arms on the BlueOx tow bar.

We tow an 06 Saturn Vue AWD V6 with a blue ox tow bar behind our 2015 31ul Precept. With aprox 2000 miles of towing I still occasionally check the rear camera and my tpms monitor to make sure its still back there. We got home last week from a 1000 mile trip thru Ohio, KY, Tn and back to lake erie with no problems and averaged 7.0 MPG. I usually cruise at 62mph.

Towing a 2002 VW Rabbit on an Acme EZ Tow dolly with our 2015 Precept 31UL. So far, no problems with towing, but we have only been on the east coast so far.

I'm not towing yet but curious. What made you use a dolly instead of flat towing?

No need for a brake controller and less requirements of what I can and can't tow 4 on the floor. I've got an old Ford Escape that is not recommended for 4 on the ground towing, and the dolly is the best option for me is all.

I haven't purchased a dolly yet and have been confused by the price ranges they go for. I've seen everywhere between $1,200.00 to $4,000.00.
How's the Acme holding up for you?

The Acme EZ tow has performed very well. The only issue encountered was that one of the rubber gaskets that holds the tail lights in the frame cutout was lost. The immediate remedy was duck tape. Acme replaced the gasket immediately at no cost and also supplied zip ties to provide extra protection against a loose gasket.
Aside from that, I learned that one must cinch the front tire straps VERY tightly to prevent wheel loosening. That was part of my education, not a fault with the dolly.
As with any towing, check the vehicle being towed at every stop.
Happy RV'ing!

Our toad is a Jeep Wrangler. 3200lbs using a stehl tow dolly. We traveled from Seattle WA. to Sturgis, SD using I-90 the whole way. We lost count of the mountain passes we drove up and over. The continental divide was the steepest with the Fourth of July pass in Montana a close second. The 31UL did a great job for us. Hope this helps.
