Warranty Work Completed

Took our 2017 31UL in to the dealer for warranty and general service after the first full year. Hopefully some of these will be helpful.

Front bunk rattles on passenger side while driving. Found screws came loose. Took both side tracks off and installed soft side Velcro in back of track and added two more new screws.

Window above entry door creaks while driving. Took inner window trim ring off and installed 1/8 x 1/4 weather stripping seal.

Dash AC doesn't work. Sent to Ford dealer found bad wire.

Dash fan doesn't work on low setting. Sent to Ford dealer. No info provided on the repair.

One front slide was leaving metal shavings and the other goes out crooked and bangs into place. Slides were not running square in opening. Adjusted both and added shims to one.

Windshield wipers do not make good contact and bounce. Tightened backer nut on inside of motor compartment.

Headlights bounce. Found back side of the headlight brackets missing washers and nuts.

Glad you got some things fixed!

We have the same issue with the bunk rail, and the low speed fan switch...

Our bunk is stuck down (hung up on the passenger side rail), and won't come back up. Happy days....

Took mine to Ford for dash fan noise. Ford said it's a jayco fan after looking at it. Can either of you tell me if your fan was replaced and where did the part come from?

Ford supplies the frame, engine and trans then Jayco builds from that so Ford doesn’t cover the fan, dash controls etc for warranty. They will service it though. In my case the rv dealers tech couldn’t perform the work so they sent it to Ford. My service record didn’t specify what was repaired

Dang, sounds like our coach;
We had the small silver metal shavings on one side of the slide.
Also the creaking drivers window for us.
I had to redo the bunk rails.
Had both headlight units replaced as they had a lot of condensation in them.
LED accent lights burned out some lights, had to be replaced.

Glad you got them all fixed, looks like I will tackle the bad caulking job next.

I have a string of accent lights that went out. I opened the hood to look at them and there is a tag on the wire of the LED lights that says “for indoor use only”. I must not have a clear understanding of the word “indoor”. There isn’t any type of strain relief on the wires coming through the hole in the fiberglass or any sort of bushing to protect the wires from the sharp edges of the hole.

My drivers side window creaks a bit too, but I had a squeak on the passengers side that kept getting louder and louder - it was driving me crazy! I finally found that the roller shade end was rubbing the pillar that the drop down bed was attached to. I unlatched the roller shade and moved it away a quarter inch and peace and quiet was restored.

That was exactly what happened to my accent LED's, replaced under warranty, and the box the new lights came in also had a sticker that stated 'indoor use only' <smfh>. The window creaking needed the inside frame removed and stick on foam weather stripping added and that stopped it, kind of like chafing tape. In my case the roller shades were mounted so close to the wall that any side to side motion had the pull bar on the bottom banging the wall, driving the DW nuts, so I added stick on ribber cushions behind the bar to stop that. It is obvious to me that the guy who designed the Alante never drove one, or had a woman check over his design
