Water temperature

Have 2017 precept 36T. In main bathroom why is the hot water hotter in the sink than the shower? I have to let the sink hot water and the shower both run in order for the demand hot water heater to ignite. The sink water is much hotter thanks

The shower control is probably "anti-scald" or low flow which is used in many showers.

If you can remove your shower wand head unit from it's hose, do so and look in the female of the wand. If you see a flow restrictor that looks even remotely similar to the kind on faucets, you can pick it out and throw it away. Should fix your problem and give you a bit more pressure too. If that doesn't work, then the mix valve is your culprit and may be more trouble than it's worth to deal with. Good luck.

I've read that there may be a piece of plastic attached to the shower faucet that restricts how far to the "hot" direction you can turn it. Can't help with anything further as we don't have a new enough TT that has that feature.

2017 precept 36T. Reviewed all past answers about shower temperature and found this piping under Sink.can’t send pictures. Two blue pipes from underneath that connect to a tee that shows a flow arrow on it. Not a very good explanation but hopefully someone understands. Thanks

So you have a tankless water heater? If so, I too agree it could be a flow issue. My Girard tankless specifically says that the heater needs sufficient flow to ignite.

One thing I've done is head outside and feel the exhaust coming out of the heater. It should be as hot as the bathroom sink, all of the time. If it's cooling then the heater isn't firing all of the time.

If tankless, needs at least 45psi or more from city water. Try on pump mode too.
