AugerN - awning LED on our Precept also dims down after a couple of minutes. Not sure why, but its too bright for us when it first comes on anyways, so we appreciate when it dims down.

So it turns out that the generator doesn't like the thin air at 8000 feet. And after arriving home I found the altitude adjustment switch on the gen. Honestly my fault because I didn't look while abroad because we really didn't have to run the generator due to lower temps while driving.

When I did try to restart the generator once at lower elevation, it had problems starting and staying running. It threw multiple codes: code 3, code 36, code 33 (coolant temp too high), code 15 (under frequency), etc. Just odd.

And once home the step won't work. It's retracted about 3/4 of the way in. It's not the sensor. So now it's time to troubleshoot that. If it's not one thing, it's another...

Also, I'm not sure how well my Precept would tow anything. The last 20 miles into Estes Park from Denver weren't too bad because the steep grades were short lived. The long fairly steep upgrades (is that even the correct term?) of I-25 in south Colorado into NM, however, really seemed to tax the motor/tranny. Even in tow mode. We slowed down considerably and it seemed to scream at times and this is without the load of a tow. Any other Precept owners care to share their tow experience?
