1st mods on my new TT

Just purchased a 2016 Jayco White Hawk 27DSRL a week ago....My 1st mod was swapping out the 24 group battery to two 6v Batteries and adding a cut off switch...This should make a difference..

2nd mod...

I have sleep apnea and needed a 12 volt outlet near the bed in case we lose power. So I added marine grade outlet and a battery volt meter next to it...

3rd mod...

Ok....We used the DDR grill that came with the TT last week and I hated how uneven the heat area was. My wife bought a Nexgrill so I went to work. I drilled out the T mount from the old grill and attached it to the Nexgrill and it fits perfectly. Can't wait to try it out next time we take the TT out. I also had to remove the quick connect from the old grill and make one that would fit the Nexgrill so I can hook it up to the existing gas on the rear of the trailer. I used assorted flare fittings that I got at Home Depot.

Oh, I LIKE that Grill mod. There is a Stainless Grill on the market already that fits that mount - but it's good to know that you can mod a NextGrill that way.

I'm like you - I hate the DDR grill but I'll probably wait till it rusts out before I replace it - I'm cheap like that :-).

Hey Dan-
Thanks for the grill pics. My grill was an old one from another trailer so I have been looking for a new 2 burner grill and the Nexgrill fits my needs perfectly. Went to Home Depot and picked a floor model Nexgrill like yours for $80, then found the right fittings and adapter. Tomorrow I will make the easy change and fire it up. Thanks for the info and pics.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

Very cool! I removed the legs on the Nexgrill because I wanted to be able to use and quickly clean the drip pan...

Theft prevention (Batteries and propane tanks)....

Although I haven't had too many issues in my neighborhood (knock on wood), I thought this would deter them a little....I bought these online from B&D Battery Lock B & D RV Battery Lock For RV travel trailers and popup campers. and BatteryShackle (Propane lock) https://batteryshackle.com/product/propane-shackle/
