Had been considering different types of floor protection for the pass-thru and under the bed storage areas (i.e.; carpet, rubber matting, etc.). The rubber matting material I looked at tended to be heavy, and carpet holds moisture.

After looking at various types of foam mat products, I went with a "rolled" foam product by Tool Shed.

Purchased ($15 @ Rural King) a roll of Foam Floor Mat (1/4" x 46" W x 93" L) that is water resistant, shock absorbing, anti-fatigue, and made from durable EVA foam (cut-to-fit).

My intent is to cover the floor area under the bed and pass-thru.., as well as the front radius wall of the pass thru. In the past storing/retrieving my WDH spring bars and ball mount assembly from the pass-thru hasn't been without some marks, dents, grease, etc., left behind. Also, the foam material may add a little sound and insulation protection.

My TT is presently at the RV dealer having a couple warranty items taken care of, so once I get it back I will tackle fitting the foam mat material within my TT....., will post pics once completed.

Installed the dense foam floor mat in my pass-thru, and for the price it works great keeping things in place. Plus when stowing my spring bars and ball mount assembly they won't be an issue with the floor and walls.

One advantage with metal siding it was easy to slide a strip of Velcro behind/around the awning support assembly while in tow....., in the event 'Murphy' shows up.

When my slide is closed there is a fair gap between the main floor and the slide floor's leading edge, and stepping on the slide floor edge under these conditions isn't advisable (crunch).

I trimmed some pool noodles so that they provide some support under the slide floor in case I mistakenly step on it while accessing the TT.

The 'noodles' run the full length of the slide floor (snug fit).

I also added a "Noodle & Velcro" reminder note next to my slide and awning switches.

For extended trips (months) the 24RBS could use a few more storage features, so I added a Sterilite 3-drawer cart (removed wheels). Same product I used for my outside storage mod (stove/sink removal).

Added a couple screws to hold it in place (back wall/floor), plus some Velcro to keep the drawers from ejecting while in tow within the rear wardrobe closet.

Extended travel means wardrobe closets fill fast/heavy and those cheap closet hanger rods are put to the "bow" test. Not uncommon for these rods to bend and/or pul the rod end-support screws out from the closet walls while in tow...., and a rear closet just adds to the misery.

A couple telescoping (42" - 72") shower curtain rods with rubber end caps can have many uses. One I use to support the closet hanger rod while in-tow.., and the other I mounted a couple inches from the back tub/shower wall for hang drying bath towels, etc..

Replaced the little OEM bathroom fan with a Vortex II multi-speed w/forward & reverse fan ......, much more effective at moving air.

Those are some great upgrades.

I have a 2018 242BSHW with that same bed issue, was going to do that one next week, I like your insulation idea, will be doing that one for sure.

Does the Eternabond tape void the warranty at all?

Thanks

Changed the fixed baggage door window with a window that opens and has a screen so the bottom bunk gets some ventilation. I

I've never heard of Jayco voiding a warranty service claim due to the use of properly applied Eternabond sealer tape in appropriate areas.

Jayco uses a thin black tape along the outer slide roof seam (covers screw heads) and I've seen that tape come off within the warranty period on some units....., applying Eternabond in this area is doing Jayco a favor. On my prior Jayco Eagle they did use a tape similar to Eternabond and it lasted 6 plus years before I had to replace it.

I've used Eternabond on all my Jayco travel trailers without an issue with Jayco warranty service claims.

As a preventative measure I installed the metal reinforcement bracket on the bottom of my Norcold frig door. Easy fix and a lot cheaper then a new door.

Installed the AP Products "Slim Shade" #015-201512 today. Install was fairly straight forward and would be faster with two people, but going solo I used plenty of painters tape to hold things in place while screwing the assembly together (product directions reference using tape).

The tinted glass provides some privacy and the ability to look outside. The shade works great and doesn't allow any light in....., IMO a useful upgrade.

Rustic, you’ve been busy! I like the rubber mat and entry door shade. Did you glue the mat?

No, decided not to glue the mat in favor of having the ability to remove it for cleaning out the cargo area. The mat doesn't move around at all, even when sliding my heavy tool box around.

Bob - I like the shade mod to the door. One question I have is how do you adjust the shade with the screen door in place?

The DW and I have the same model TT and I’ve enjoyed watching the mods and information you’ve shared. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

Rick,

The shade can only be accessed by opening the doors...., now if it had a remote control

I don't find it an inconvenience....., if I want the shade closed at night I just pull it down on my way into the TT in the evening, and open it on my way out in the morning.

With the 24RBS floor plan it's nice to be able to have another window to look out of while sitting in the TT....., especially since the entry wall has only two windows not including the door window.

The Jay Flight 24RBS came with a screwed-on panel hiding the HWH, where my retired Eagle had a nice hinged panel which was nice for general access. Also, like to keep the panel slightly open during those hard freeze periods.

Found some matching hinges and a double roller latch at a local RV dealership. HD had a handle that was a close match to the existing handles, but need to find a darker wood putty match for the two screw holes in the panel.
