23RB Mods and Gadgets

After 2 years of owning and enjoying our 2015 23RB, I believe we are close to being done with our "To Do List!" At this very moment, I can only think of two more things I want/need to do and that is mount our guitar and ukulele hooks somewhere and make a drop down shelf for the side of the couch.

I thought it would be nice to take a moment and post some pictures of our mods and a few of the gadgets that work for us. I also want to thank everyone who contributes to this forum because a lot of our ideas and decisions on certain things were made from reading your comments or looking at your pictures.

My DH sawed a hole in the bathroom closet to make me a clothes hamper.

Put up hooks for wet towels and also had to use a door stop so the closet door would not hit the hooks.

Just installed the Oxygenics shower head yesterday and can't wait to try it out tomorrow. Also, you can see the expandable shower rod that we use in the shower to dry wet items.

DH wanted speakers in the bathroom, so he mounted them on both sides of the sink cabinet.

In this photo you can see we use Command Hooks for the pot holders and as storage for the sink covers along the side wall next to the stove. I would like to point out the space we opened above the microwave for my frying pans. I am using a candle sleeve as a utensil holder due to the space being very narrow behind the cooktop. Also, mounted a paper towel holder on the vent top.

Mounted Command Hooks under the kitchen sink on the cabinet door to hang my cutting boards and storage basket for cleaning items. Also, I use a magazine rack attached to the side wall with Velcro to store my kitchen wrap and storage baggies.

This wasn't anything major but it really added much needed space. We moved the center divider under the couch about 5" closer to the ducting so we could store our fold up table under there.

Installed a Closetmaid cabinet to store our shoes. If you look to the left of the cabinet you will see a dimmer switch, which is connected to the lamp, so we no longer have to walk into a dark trailer. We also mounted a push bar on the screen door.

A few of the mods were done within a few months after bringing it home. Things like the hamper, bed support, Closetmaid cabinet, space above the microwave, the extra hooks and everything in the bedroom were done so we could be comfortable on a planned 4 week vacation. The husband and I are retired and unfortunately for him, I am always looking for new ideas.

We used 6 mirror mounting hardware that I picked up at Lowe's in the Home Décor department by the wall mirrors. I used two on each side except for the left side due to it being so close to the wall.

Made a fruit and vegetable basket this week using 2 baskets from the Dollar Tree and some chain that we had. As you can see in the picture, the weight was no problem for the hook in the bottom of the cabinet.

One other mod this week that was badly needed was to find a place to hang my husbands parlor guitar. Placing it above the window in the bedroom area made it an out of the way place that never needs moved unless to be played.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your mods.

Our 23RB has incorporated similar mods.

Our best mod was the digital thermostat or was it the battery disconnect switch on the battery box?

I just took a hanging shoe caddy that I purchased second hand, and cut it by rows to mount under the bed using heavy duty velcro.

Also have the 23rb and opened up the cabinet above the microwave, but there's no "shelf" over the microwave to store anything. What did you do to this space to make it useable?
