287BHS closet shelving

We use the closet in the main room to store bulky items and it became cluttered and could not completely use the space. Two shelves made of 1/4 inch play on a 3/4" frame supported by 1x2 vertical rails provided my solution.

The vertical rails are drilled for shelf pins are at 3 inch intervals to allow the space to be adapted... one shelf installed at the lowest point allows for shirts and jackets to be still hung up. The lowest position is 14" off of the closet floor.

What did you use to attach the rails to the walls?

Wood glue and 1 inch screws. The length of the screw wouldn't wreak havoc on the other side of the panel.
