The bottom center ANL fuse holder with fuse? This is a 300A T fuse for the inverter. Recommendations are to have one as close to the inverter as possible.

Thank you! I'll be using pictures of your when I do mine!

Out of curiosity, what drove you to use a box and breakers (are those 120V breakers?) as opposed to a DC breaker/fuse I see most others use?

29BHDS solar

I believe that's a 12V breaker. The ones in the box are DC breakers rated to 150V.

My solar input will be at 30V (parallel) or 90V (series).

This is the part where I say "Duh....". You have higher voltage panels. Forgot about that. Got lost in thinking everything is 12V before the inverter.

Thanks!

It took me a second to remember why I used those breakers...

There's a good Youtube video from Midnite Solar about their DC breakers.

Very nice install so far. Nice work. Mine looked nice like that in my head before I actually built it. Afterwards not so much!

Cheers

Haha, and thanks. No updates recently to this. But we did pick up our trailer last Friday and camped last weekend. Hoping to get the solar setup installed in the next few weeks.

29BHDS solar

OK, amazing how fast three months goes by...

We've done four trips now with the camper and we're having a blast. Between weekends camping, other projects and being busy with the family I haven't had a lot of time to work on the solar project. But I was able to make a little progress this weekend.

A quick mock up of the mounting I'm looking at for the four batteries. Plan is to have the angle iron welded to the frame. My original idea was to use the holes to help secure the boxes but I may go back and get some without the holes for better structural support.

And got most of the battery cables put together today, too. All 4/0 wires...
