4 bikes in our X213

Not exactly a mod, but rather a solution for taking 4 bikes with us and saving them from getting beat up and scratched during travel. Also to make sure they actually fit as fitting 4 bikes in that area was tough.

And just an update that we travelled 1500 km (932 miles) round trip with our bikes like this and they didn't budge. Everything in perfect condition on arrival at our destinations and when we returned home. Big change from how we previously did it which was stacking them against one another with padding in between and strapping them down, which appeared as if they wouldn't move but did in just a short trip and scratched one of the bikes.

Looking from tiny screen on my phone...Did you remove front wheels and are those Thule bike racks? Never seen those before. May have to do this for our X254.

Yes and yes. Those Thule mounts need to be mounted to something. In this case, he mounted them to a piece of wood. Because of the tiny space, it looks like he also had to loosen the front fork bolts in order to turn the handlebars sideways. (Is that correct?)

Correct. My hubby was going to mount them directly to the floor but since we weren't certain we were going to like the solution, he used wood. There is a rear piece he made as well that the rear tires sit in so there is no movement.
