Accumulator tank

I have a spot where I can fit a larger tank in than the smaller sized accumulator tank from shurflo.

Thoughts on types of pressured tanks to use? will a standard RO tank work?

I have seen where others have used the residential 2 gallon tanks with good results. Obviously the larger the tank, the less cycling there will be.

I am not sure if the rewards would outweigh the work involved. The small tank does its job fairly well.. but if you have the space and the time and the ambition then go for it...

Here is what I have on my houseboat. It is very effective for keeping the pump from coming on during night time bathroom visits. Both of those tanks are 14 gallons. The blue one is for the main water supply & the white one is for a reverse osmosis drinking water system.

I do not know what fittings were used, as I said in my post the picture was borrowed from someone else.

ok,

I ran by lowes to see what fittings they had. They have the typical RO tank valve that goes to 1/4".

ok, i figured out the fittings. The RO tank has a 1/4" male thread. Is this going to be too small to supply 2 faucets, a shower and a toilet? I can pickup the 2 gallon expansion tank for $40 and it has a 3/4' male thread opening.

I added flexible hoses to the pump and put some foam below it. If it gets any quieter, I won't know that it's on. what a difference.
