Added a roof vent

Well I finally cut a hole in the roof of our X24K last week and added a MaxxAir vent over the rear bunk. It was too stuffy back there with just the one window for ventilation and now my son can control it himself vs. using the other roof vent over the dinette.

I had roof plans from Jayco, but they weren't really necessary as I installed it inline with the bathroom vent. The most time consuming part was framing around the new opening it due to the radius of the Jayco Magnum Truss system.

We're finally getting some heavy rain up here today so I'll see how my install really went!

Oh yes, I did use Butyl Tape and Dicor to seal it up.

Looks great!

I am waiting on Jayco to supply the blueprints for mine so I can do the same thing. My daughter sleeps up there and it gets very warm. I also want to install one in the main living area as my only vent is currently in the bathroom...

Very nice! Someone recently posted a question about cutting a hole for an AC unit. I hope they see our post.
