Added new roof vent in bedroom ceiling

Our 5er didn't come with a bedroom ceiling vent so I installed this one today (well, actually yesterday and today). I didn't go with the powered roof vent because we have a Fantastic Fan in the bathroom. The roof structure was already prepped at the factory and 12V wiring was also already there. Hope I uploaded pictures correctly.

Nice job. Did you also use some sealant around the joint. ( Dicor )

Great job, I give you a lot of credit for cutting that roof open. That first saw cut had to be a real heart pounder for ya. I'll admit it, it would be for me.

I used 4" EternaBond Tape, then added a little Dicor self-leveling around the tape in order to keep the edges clean and give a little added security.

The tense part was drilling the four corner holes from underneath. Once that was done it was too late to turn back

Nice work! How did you know where to start drilling? You noted that the space was prepped and pre-wired which is nice.

Great job!

My heart would've been pounding for sure on that first cut!

I called Jayco, gave them my VIN and requested the Roof Assembly drawings. The cut-out areas were already built in and right next to the air conditioning vents. They (there is also one in the kitchen area that I have not yet installed) are right in line with the ceiling lights so once I cut the hole, I fished around close by and sure enough there were the wires. I used a small router to cut the ceiling panel and a jig saw to cut the roof plywood.
I was surprised at the amount of insulation in the "attic" and also that there was plywood for roof decking, not OSB.
